How to maintain your knives between sharpening.

Hey Madison! Most people have their kitchen knives sharpened once a year, maybe sooner for those who cook at home daily. Or if you use your pocket knife for utility purposes you may consider having it touched up every few months or so.

You could touch up the edge after each use to keep your cutting tool in well-maintained condition. There are two ways you can keep your knives from dulling too quickly. Run your blade over a leather strop or use a ceramic rod to keep your edge between professional sharpening.

Remember to keep your knife as close to the cutting angle as possible with either and use light pressure. This will keep things relatively sharp until it’s time to have the edge brought back to an apex.

You should enjoy cooking, fishing or hunting. Let me worry about your tool and knife sharpening in Madison and surrounding areas.
