Yes. Either you’re satisfied with the sharpening service, or I will rework your item until you are. I stand behind every edge I sharpen.
I accept cash or card. You can pay in person, or I can send an invoice by email so you can pay online at your convenience.
Yes, I sharpen mower blades. A sharp mower blade helps prevent grass tearing, reduces stress on your mower, and improves lawn health. Bring the blade removed from your mower, and I’ll resharpen and balance it so it runs smoothly. Drop-off, farmers market, and walk-up service at the trailer are all available.
I sharpen manual hedge shears, but not gasoline-powered or powered hedge trimmers. Powered trimmers require specialized disassembly and jigging, which I do not currently offer. Manual shears, however, are fully serviceable.
Yes. Ice auger blades can be sharpened and tuned for clean, efficient cutting through winter ice. Bring them by drop-off or to the farmers market and they’ll be sharpened properly to maintain the correct cutting geometry.
Yes. I don’t just “touch up” serrations—I can restore, re-establish, and even recut scallops when they’re nearly worn flat.
Yes. Professional shears (straight or texturizing) are sharpened and tuned properly, including tension adjustment. Complex rework from other sharpeners may take more time.
Not yet. Circular saw blades and other toothed saw blades require a specialty machine designed for perfect tooth indexing. It’s a service I may offer in the future as Sharp On Sight expands into more tooling categories.
Appointments
If you contact me to set an appointment, most kitchen knives are completed in 30 minutes or less.
Shears
Salon shears, barber scissors, and pet grooming shears may require additional time to ensure they’re tuned and sharpened correctly.
Drop-Off Sharpening
If you prefer to use the drop box at your convenience, sharpening is typically ready within 24 hours.
Farmers Market
You can find me at the Sun Prairie Farmers Market on Saturday mornings, where sharpening is done while you shop.
Walk-Up Service
If you see my trailer open at 291 E Linnerud, Sun Prairie, WI, you’re welcome to stop by for on-the-spot sharpening.
Yes. I travel for on-site sharpening within about 30 minutes of Sun Prairie if there’s enough work to justify the trip.
I do not sharpen drill bits at this time. Precision drill-bit sharpening requires a dedicated alignment and angle-control system. I may offer this in the future once the specialized equipment is added.
No. Drop-off is available anytime.
Not at this moment. Chainsaw chain sharpening requires a separate setup from my current equipment, but I am actively working toward offering this service in the future. It’s on the roadmap as Sharp On Sight continues to expand.
Yes. Misaligned bevels, overheated edges, and poorly matched angles can all be corrected, though this may require more time.
Not yet. Planer blades require a dedicated fixture and precision setup that I’m currently evaluating. Once I have the right system in place, I plan to offer this service.
Yes. If you bring an entire set of kitchen knives, I discount the service as a package. This saves you money and gets your whole set sharpened at once.
